Alternative Futures Updated 1 year ago

The COVID19 crisis has resulted in great turmoil, and continues to do so. Amidst the painful loss of life and the confinement of whole human populations, this pandemic is exposing significant weaknesses in the current economic system; a system founded on inequality and inequity, overconsumption, the pursuit of infinite growth at the expense of people and the environment, and the unsustainable extraction of finite resources which is deepening even further the climate crisis and the impacts on the most vulnerable. To add to this, investment in vital services such as health care has proven inadequate and the rollout of vaccines globally has been shockingly unequal, while global biodiversity loss underpins an increasing risk of new pandemics.

Prevention Epicenters Bibliometric Analysis Updated 1 year ago

This project builds on work from Hanna Schurr, Lauren Krebs, and Kelly Hatfield et al. to examine bibliographic social networks of the Prevention Epicenters program in the current and last five-year funding cycle(s). Besides updating the list of peer-reviewed publications, we will investigate common topics/MDROs (semantic network), funding ROI, citation/policy impact (citation network), and (strength of) authorship/journal/institutional connections (collaboration network), among other factors. There is a possibility to link these results to publications by MInD Network investigators and/or, separately, do a "more pure" "partnership network analysis" looking at strength, frequency, duration, and perceived usefulness of collaborations without looking at publications.
